Households Both

Households give families, partners, and roommates a shared workspace for home management, chore schedules, and away-from-home errands. TapTidy supports personal privacy alongside shared accountability.

Household Roles & Permissions

Each adult in a household holds a specific role:

• Owner / Co-Owner: Can invite or remove members, configure rotation rules, manage child accounts and PINs, approve reward redemptions, and reopen child-completed tasks.
• Member: Can view, create, self-assign, and complete shared tasks, chores, and errands.

Child Accounts & PIN Login

Owners and co-owners can create lightweight child accounts for family members who do not need separate email sign-ins:

• Login Codes: Each child receives a friendly login code (e.g. avery-k7m2) and a 4-to-6 digit PIN. No email or complex password required.
• Child Session Boundary: Child sessions are restricted exclusively to the Household workspace. On Web, sessions persist in session storage for 8 hours. On Android, entering Child Mode switches the interface to a child-focused view with quick exit back to adult mode.
• Task Reopening & Approvals: When a child marks a task complete, it moves to pending approval (unless the owner has granted the Complete without approval capability). Child sessions cannot reopen completed tasks; only owners can reopen them.
• PIN Protection: After 5 failed PIN attempts, login is locked for 15 minutes to prevent brute-force entry.

Household Points & Rewards Board

Motivate household members with a built-in points and rewards economy:

• Earning Points: Completing assigned "hustle" chores automatically credits points to the assignee's balance.
• Redemptions & Approvals: Members can claim rewards from the custom household catalog. Member redemptions enter a pending state until an owner approves and settles the points deduction.

Household Inbound Email (Pro)

Owners on TapTidy Pro can publish a shared household email address. Incoming emails automatically convert into shared household tasks, or into errands if the subject includes errand.
